How to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the Gaslamp Quarter

March 14, 2016

Grab your green gear and four leaf clovers, St. Patrick’s Day is almost here! Still deciding how to celebrate on March 17th? Luckily, we’ve got a few options for you.

The 22nd Annual ShamROCK

One of the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations on the West Coast, this San Diego Block Party is taking over G and F streets between 5th and 7th Avenue and on 6th Avenue between E and G Streets. With over 80,000 square feet of green astroturf, there will be plenty of room to dance to one of the 10 DJs, or five Irish bands that will be providing the soundtrack to this event. A 150 foot Irish Pub will be set up in the streets of the Gaslamp, serving up endless amounts of green beer and Irish whiskey to keep the party going all night long. With entrance to this epic celebration, you’ll also get access to food & drink specials at the hottest venues in Downtown San Diego, including…

The Double Deuce

Experience St. Patrick’s Day Double Deuce style with your ShamROCK wristband. With no cover, two DJs, and deals on Bud Light and Jameson Whiskey all night, you’re guaranteed to have a buckin’ good time.

Whiskey Girl

With a name like Whiskey Girl, you know this place is a must on St. Patrick’s Day. San Diego DJ, Marc Thrasher will be bumping beats, and there’s no cover charge until 10pm. Bud Light for only $4 and Jameson for $6.50 means there’s no need to worry about breaking the bank on Thursday.

The Tipsy Crow

San Diego’s longest-standing bar, this place has got an old-world experience unlike any other bar in the Gaslamp. The Tipsy Crow is your ideal destination for St. Patrick’s Day if you’re looking for a place with variety. With three levels to explore opening at noon and a $11 pint + dew deal going on (a pint of Guinness and shot of Tullamore Dew), it will be hard not to get a little tipsy on March 17th.

Florent Restaurant + Lounge

Head to one of the hottest restaurants in the Gaslamp and treat your tastebuds to a delicious Irish feast this St. Patrick’s Day. Chef Brad Hightow will be serving up a corned beef and cabbage dish with red potatoes and whole grain mustard sauce for dinner. And for dessert he’s concocted a chocolate cherry soda bread with Bailey’s whipped cream and Jameson caramel. Need we say more?!
